Partnership working

Halo Homes works closely with local authorities, safeguarding teams, and specialist services to ensure coordinated and effective support.

How Halo Homes works

  1. Referral – Access is via professional referral routes
  2. Assessment – Needs and risks are assessed carefully and sensitively
  3. Placement – Safe accommodation with ongoing support
  4. Move‑on planning – Support with longer‑term housing and independence

The service is designed to offer both immediate safety and longer‑term stability.

Our approach

Halo Homes is grounded in:

  • Trauma‑informed practice
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Strong safeguarding standards
  • Respect for autonomy and choice

We recognise that leaving an abusive situation is complex and deeply personal. Our role is to support women at their own pace, without judgement or pressure.

“The support I received helped me feel safe for the first time in years. I didn’t feel judged or rushed, just understood.”

Why Halo Homes matters

Women fleeing abuse often face multiple barriers to safety, including housing shortages, fear, and isolation. Specialist refuges like Halo Homes play a critical role in providing not just shelter, but the time and support needed to begin again.

By combining safe accommodation with specialist advocacy and support, Halo Homes helps women move from crisis towards stability and independence.
